Our Story
The Middleton Food Pantry was established in 2005 for the purpose of assisting individuals and families in our community with food insecurity. In our early years, we assisted our clients from the front, west rooms of the Middleton Methodist Church building with only a handful of volunteers. As the number of clients grew, so too did our operational needs. In 2013 we moved to a larger building at 307 E. 1st street (need directions?). We continue to operate from this location today with an all volunteer workforce of over 50 individuals from the community!
Our Logo
Our logo was created by a community member in 2007. The thoughtful design of five loaves and two fish symbolizes the miracle that Jesus fed many, about 5000, with those five loaves and two fish. The meaningful design of the logo tells us what the founders of the pantry were thinking when the mission began, to feed many, with little. We are blessed to continue to serve our community today.

We operate year round with a 100% self-funded budget from fundraising and donations!
We are entirely volunteer managed and operated:

Our Process
We accomplish our mission by planning, organizing, and coordinating food recovery from multiple commmunity resources. Each week, we sort, store, and stage food Tuesday through Saturday. We distribute food directly to registered clients every Wednesday and Saturday.

Our Future
Our desire is to continue to serve those in the Middleton community as we have for the last 21 years.
Our operations rely on refrigeration and freezer capacity, safe volunteer work areas and practices, efficient client access, and adequate parking. Adequate space is essential to operate safely, efficiently, and consistently. These investments require predictability and stability
Demand for food assistance in Middleton continues to increase year over year. To responsibly address this need, the Pantry must:
- Invest in a modest building or modular facility
- Access utilities
- Install refrigeration, freezers, a restroom
- Create parking for clients
- Ensure safe access for clients, volunteers, and deliveries
Our current facility does not safely or efficiently support operations. We desperately need a new home. We are optimistic and open minded to explore all ideas.
We are looking for a benevolent community resource who wants to make a real impact in Middleton with Idle land, a building, or both to lease or buy within our limited budget, preferably within the city limits.
